Muhurat

Picking a good day. Tell any of these tools where you are and when you're looking, and it lists the days that qualify — with the reasoning shown in plain words, so you can check it or take it to someone who can.

Abhijit Muhurat

A short lucky window around midday, good for starting almost anything. Today's exact times for your city — and the two occasions it does not apply.

Open
Marriage Dates

Wedding dates that clear the traditional calendar — the right stars, and clear of the months in which weddings are not held.

Open
Griha Pravesh

Days to move into a new home and hold the house-warming.

Open
Property Registration

Days to sign, register or take possession — Thursdays and Fridays lead, the days of Jupiter and Venus.

Open
Vehicle Purchase

Days to buy a car or a bike, or to take delivery of one you have already bought.

How to use these: each list narrows a year down to a shortlist of days. It works from the calendar alone — no birth chart is read, so the final choice, and the hour within the day, still belongs to your family astrologer or priest. A printed almanac checks the hours inside each day and allows a few more stars, so its list will be longer than these.

What a muhurat is

A muhurat is a chosen moment — the practice of picking when to do something rather than leaving it to whenever you are free. Weddings, moving into a house, signing for property, buying a vehicle: the tradition has rules for each, and they are not the same rules.

The tools here are filters. They take a range of dates and hand back the ones that clear a stated set of checks, with the checks shown.

Reading the table above

Each page lists the days it found, then the rules it applied, then what it does not judge. That last section is the one worth reading first if you are about to act on a date.

The context strip at the top shows the seasonal blocks overlapping your range — Chaturmas, and any leap month. Those are why a list can come back much shorter than you expected, or empty.

Abhijit is different from the other four: it is a window inside a single day rather than a list of days, so it takes a date and gives you a time.

What each name means

ChaturmasThe four monsoon months. Life rites — weddings, house-warmings — are not performed during them.
Adhik MaasThe leap month the lunar calendar inserts roughly every three years. Nothing new is begun in one.
Pitru PakshaThe fortnight for ancestral rites. Not used for new ventures.
Rikta tithiThe 4th, 9th and 14th lunar days. Avoided for anything newly acquired.
Shukra / Guru AstaVenus or Jupiter too close to the Sun to be seen. Weddings are not fixed while either is invisible.

What people get wrong

“A muhurat list is a ranking, with the first date being best.”
It is a filter, not a ranking. Every date shown cleared the same checks; none is scored above another. Choosing between them is a job for someone reading the charts involved.
“If a date is on the list, it is a good date for me.”
For anyone, maybe. For you, unknown — none of these pages reads a birth chart. For a wedding in particular that is the largest gap, because a vivah muhurat is normally fixed against both horoscopes.
“My almanac has more dates, so this tool is missing some.”
It probably does, and the reason is method. These lists read one value per day at sunrise; published almanacs compute windows inside a day and allow a wider set of stars. Measured against one almanac for 2026 this filter returns 25 marriage dates to its 59, with 72% of ours appearing on its list.

Questions people ask

Which page do I want?
Marriage, griha pravesh, property or vehicle for a list of days. Abhijit if you need a good hour today and have no other timing to go by.
Why did my whole month disappear?
Usually a seasonal block, and the context strip at the top of each page names which. January 2026 is a good example: Venus is too close to the Sun for the whole month, so no marriage dates exist in it at all.
Can I use a date that is not on the list?
People do, constantly. These are traditional preferences, not prohibitions, and a date that clears every check but does not suit the people involved is worth less than one that does.

Before you rely on this

  • Open the individual page for the rules that apply. Each activity has its own list of what it checks and what it does not, and they differ.
  • None of these read a birth chart. That is the largest limitation and it is the same one on every page in this section.
